Luciol Instruments SA (a.k.a. Luciol) is a private Swiss company, active in fibre optic measurement and instrumentation. Luciol has purchased the key assets of Sunrise Luciol SaRL, which was divested from its parent company Sunrise Telecom Inc., and kept all its experienced management team.

We want to put our experience and our expertise to your service, to provide you with innovative optical fiber instrumentation.

Our core expertise is in photon-counting technology, which enables a new class of Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers. These OTDRs have extremely high spatial resolution, which is impossible to achieve with the standard type of products.

In addition to our commercial products, we are looking for partners, who would like to market and distribute our other products on a OEM basis. If you are looking for a competitive Polarization Mode Dispersion Analyzer, or a Chromatic Dispersion Analyzer, which you would like to add to your product line, Luciol will be able to provide you with a competitive solution, with a short deadline. We are also willing to discuss new projects in the field of phyiscal layer optical fiber testing.

We specialize in High-Resolution Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers, based on proprietary designs.

Following the divestiture of Sunrise Luciol SaRL, the daughter company of Sunrise Telecom Inc., Luciol Instruments SA has purchased the assets of Sunrise Luciol related to manufacturing of high-resolution OTDRs.

Luciol currently offers two different instruments:

* The v-OTDR, which is a very high resolution OTDR. Its target market is characterisation of short fiber links, patchcords, sensors..., or accurate zooming on faraway short sections. The ?-OTDR is a separate box, which has to be connected to an external PC or Notebook.

* The LOR-200, which is a high resolution OTDR. The LOR-200 has the look and feel of an OTDR, but an unprecedented resolution. It has been specially designed for characterisation of Passive Optical Networks (PONs) and FTTH.

In addition, we can offer our expertise to industrial partners, who wish to develop new optical fibers test instruments, such as Polarisation Mode Dispersion (PMD) analysers or Chromatic Dispersion (CD) analysers.
